These are our personal picks, the places we actually go after a round, or book for a special night out. We've split them into casual and upscale so you can match the mood. All of them are worth your time.
The Kelowna dining scene has grown dramatically over the past few years. You'll find everything from laid back lakeside patios to serious fine dining that would hold its own in any major city. Whether you're looking for a cold pint and a pizza after 18 holes or a proper celebration dinner with a full Okanagan wine list, the options below cover every occasion.
Kelowna gets busy from late June through August. The upscale spots especially. Derrick's, Wilding, and Maestro's, fill up fast on weekends. Booking a day or two ahead is always smart in peak season.
Casual Favourites
These are the spots we end up at most often, relaxed, good food, cold drinks, and zero fuss. Perfect post round.
King Taps Lakeside
Right on the water in downtown Kelowna, King Taps is hard to beat for a post round patio session. The lakeside location is genuinely spectacular, the wood fired pizzas are excellent, and there's enough on the menu, shareable plates, mains, cold beer and cocktails, to keep everyone happy. Big groups, couples, solo, it works for all of it. One of the best patios in the city, full stop.
Visit Website โBrowns Socialhouse
Browns is a Kelowna staple and for good reason, consistent quality, a solid menu that covers everything from burgers and flatbreads to proper mains, and a drinks program that includes a good BC wine selection alongside the beers and cocktails. It's reliable in the best possible way: you always know what you're getting and it's always good. Multiple locations make it easy to find one near whatever course you've just played.
Visit Website โ19 Okanagan Grill & Bar @ Two Eagles
This one earns its spot for pure convenience and setting alone, but the food backs it up. Sitting right on the grounds of Two Eagles Golf Course, you get fairway views, Okanagan Lake in the distance, and a menu built around fresh local ingredients. Hit the driving range first, then settle in on the patio. It's exactly what a golf course restaurant should be: unpretentious, good value, and with a view that makes every beer taste better.
View Two Eagles โThe Hatching Post
Authentic Texas style BBQ on Boucherie Road with an attached brewery. Canadian sourced meats are smoked low and slow over fruit woods, and the menu delivers across the board. The signature brisket, pulled pork, and St. Louis ribs are the headliners, but the burnt ends, brisket mac and cheese, and house made cornbread with maple butter are not to be missed. Pair it all with one of their house brewed beers from the on site taps. Saloon style decor, friendly staff, and a happy hour from 3 to 6pm Monday to Friday. The Sharesies platters are perfect for a group after a round.
Visit Website โDunnenzies Pizza Co. (Mission
If you're staying in or near the Mission area, Dunnenzies is the move for pizza night. Consistently one of the best pies in Kelowna, creative toppings, great dough, and a casual no frills setup that just lets the food speak for itself. Ideal if you've played Gallagher's Canyon or Black Mountain and want something satisfying without the fuss of a sit down dinner. Grab a pie, crack a beer, done.
Visit Website โUpscale Dining
When the occasion calls for something special, a celebration, a big group dinner, or just a night where you want to eat really well, these are the five spots we reach for first.
Derrick's Steakhouse
The best steakhouse in Kelowna, and it's not particularly close. Derrick's occupies a beautiful historic brick building downtown and brings a 1950s steakhouse sensibility with a modern, polished execution. The tableside Caesar salad and Cherries Jubilee are theatrical and delicious, the Bistecca and truffled tenderloin au poivre are exceptional, and the wine list is exactly what you want at a proper steakhouse. This is the celebration dinner, after a great round at Predator Ridge, a low handicap card, or just a night where you want to eat seriously well.
Visit Website โWildling
Wildling's tagline is "humble food and wines of the earth," and they live it. This is a neighbourhood wine bar and restaurant at its best, small plates designed for sharing, ingredients sourced almost entirely from small local farmers, and a wine list that rewards people who actually care about what's in the glass. The sourdough brown butter chocolate chip cookie is the stuff of legend. It's the kind of place that makes Kelowna feel like a real food city, not just a tourist destination.
Visit Website โMaestro's Mediterranean
Mediterranean done properly, sea inspired dishes, beautiful use of oils, grains and spices, and a menu that feels genuinely inventive rather than just familiar. Maestro's is one of those restaurants that surprises people who aren't expecting much from Kelowna's dining scene. The flavours are bold and well executed, the room has a warmth to it, and the whole experience is a nice contrast to the steakhouse and patio circuit. A fantastic choice if you want something a bit different after a round.
Visit Website โErica Jane Restaurant
Erica Jane sits in the One Water towers right on the edge of downtown Kelowna, steps from the lake, and delivers an elevated steak and seafood experience with a lot of personality. Chef Dan Carkner's menus are seasonally driven and rooted in Okanagan ingredients, and the wine wall in the cocktail lounge is genuinely impressive. Happy hour runs daily, there's a weekend brunch, and the whole place has a fun, celebratory energy that makes it easy to stay longer than planned. Don't skip the washrooms, they've become a bit of a talking point.
Visit Website โThe Modest Butcher @ Mt. Boucherie
The Modest Butcher earns its name from a genuinely humble approach to serious cooking, farm to table steaks and seafood at the Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery, with vineyard and Okanagan Lake views from the patio. It's the perfect combination of golf, wine, and a great meal: play a round on the Westside, stop in for a tasting at the winery, then stay for dinner. The Tomahawk steak is spectacular. The lounge is good for a more casual drop in if you can't get a table in the dining room.
Visit Website โEarly tee time at Two Eagles, lunch at the 19 Okanagan Grill on site, afternoon round of wine touring on the Westside, then dinner at Derrick's Steakhouse to close it out. Hard to top that day in this valley.
